Well, I certainly don't do it out of sheer spite, Dave.

I started this position around a year ago and it's was my first step into an actual revit/bim management role. The place was a mess when I got here (and still have to deal with legacy projects) but during this time I've learnt a more about the behind the scenes stuff, including things like pushing custom .ini files with deployments. Early on things changed every now and then as libraries were reorganised, template updated etc. Why run around to 30 computers every time I make a small change?

Having the DisableMPPAutoApply turned on drives me nuts, I already get RSI from years of furious mouse clicking. Or standing by someone's screen as we both stare blindly waiting for something to happen....

Having standard colours in the colour picker was a request from upper management in an attempt to maintain consistency.

Click and drag being turned off by default. Well that explains itself.

Honestly, I could stop the daily thing and move to a 'click this .bat file please model (yeah i probably should), but it would make almost zero difference to our designers. Not hearing complaints from our Revit users tells me so. They just want a standard way of doing things so they can focus on designing. This is my experience in this office, which is still itself a relatively new venture (3 years old).

I'm sure I'll get less mean as time goes on.

Thats why its best left to user settings. I would absolutely be complaining to management that i wanted MPP auto apply on, and that i was going to circumvent the INI change every single day, until it was possible. LMAO

You could always have multiple INIs with various user settings that are pushed out to specific people.

Besides, I thought it was possible to push updates to the INI without overwriting the whole thing... no?

It hardly works. And it's super pain in the butt, to do the update by GUID. It's way easier to modify it through an external tool.

Steve: by auto apply on, I meant the DISABLEmppautoapply is on. LOL. I hate it auto applying when I leave the PP.

I’d turn that to 1 and when people asked me what happened I’d play dumb.

I just want chime in that I've been having the same issue - was actually asking around our office about it a couple weeks ago... I've noticed it for at least a month... probably longer.

Just add this to an embarrassingly long list of Revit bugs, many of which are much more serious than this one - there's so many these days, I genuinely wouldn't know where to begin, LOL.

Yeah, sorry. I guess I posted that before I added the winkie face. And I meant a new daily .INI file. I certainly push out a custom INI with our deployments. But then I leave it alone.

As far as the Disable AutoApply, we're split on that. I have at least one power user who insists on it and at least one who hates it. Most other people aren't even aware of what it does. Personally, I hate it. When I have AutoApply on, I find myself making changes all the time that I wasn't ready for yet. Or worse, I'm in the middle of typing a dimension an suddenly get 25' instead of 25'-6 1/2". Or, I'm trying to pick something from a drop-down, and the drop-down disappears & whatever I happened to be over gets applied.
