    Schedule Linked Models

    Guys,

Does anyone know how I can create a schedule that shows the linked models in a project?

I'm simply looking for the schedule to show:

    File Name - Revision

Just include the revision in the file name.....

    PROJECT HOSPITAL_P03.RVT

You should probably be archiving key revision files anyhow...

We do, the issue we have is we need to show on the drawing which linked models are being displayed on the drawing.

We needed this capability on a Revit 2016 project last year, but at the time it was not supported out of the box. We were required to show which versions of the host and linked files were used to generate each individual plot. We worked around it by creating a legend that was included on every sheet and which we manually updated each time a new version of a linked file was created. We had a different legend for each scale so that the drawing sheet did not end up showing "As indicated" for the drawing scale. It was a trivial amount of work to manually update. I suspect that it would be easily automated through Dynamo, though.

I think that from Revit 2018 the linked file project parameters are available to schedule, but I've not explored this option. If so, it could be automated.

Oh, interesting. I thought you were talking about drawing revisions like a sheet list.

Opinions vary, but my file names don't ever change on a project, so it would have to be done as a shared parameter in project information (if that's possible to schedule as a link). If not, it would be a manual thing, for us. There aren't a ton of models, and generally (most of the time, here) they all change issuance together so it's not much of an issue.

Another thing you can do, along the lines of Aaron's method, is create multiple parameters (e.g. per bid pack) and track when sheets are for reference only, not included or where first included in a bid pack, in a matrix-type sheet schedule. Parameter value examples might be: X = included, R = Reference only, blank or "---" = not included.
