Document has changed since last version?

Yesterday afternoon I opened a Central file through Recent Files, which went through the usual process of asking me to overwrite my local file. After everything was opened and loaded I saw this message:

Now this morning I just opened another file through the same process, and got the same message again. No one else is working in these files, and they have not been saved at any other time except by me. After I close the message everything seems to work fine. Why would it bring up such a message?

    Yikes!
I get scared, too, when I see an invisible error message!

Not a good situation. It does that if you are in a file twice, and one of them becomes stale. You can make it do it with a family really easily. If that's happening when you're in a local of a central, I would suspect something isn't right with the file pathing, or that Revit thinks you are doing a save as, and not a swc.

I have no idea how any of that could be happening. I always SWC as normal using the button on the QAT, and all files are pathed with UNC path names i.e. \\server\share as opposed to mapped drive letters. And with 2019 I'm always opening a file from the Recent Files list which of course points to the Central file on our server and automatically creates a new local file each time.

*edit* and if I close out of the file, close Revit, re-open and then re-open the file, there are no problems at all. It's only happened twice that I've seen, so far - once yesterday and once today, each on separate project files.

Looked through journal files, and there are definite differences between instances of opening a file with the error message and one opening normally, but I don't know enough about the code to be able to tell why there would be a difference.

I've always trained people to never open files with the recent files window. At some firms, I had gone as far as disabling it.

Regardless of if you USE the Drive Letters, are they on your machine at all? IE: IS there a drive letter going to that server share, on your server? Or none at all?

    Same here.
    UNTIL 2019.2
The Recent Files "Home" page in 2019.2 works the way we've always wanted Recent Files to work.
2019.2's Home page shows only the Central Files, and always makes a new Local

This. I had always had Recent Files disabled ever since it was introduced, until this latest version. Now I have it enabled on our machines.
