Rooms Not Listed in Furniture Schedule Filter

We have a need to schedule furniture and equipment in rooms where the equipment is in a linked file. The rooms are in the host file and the new construction is in the host file, but the existing construction is in a linked file. We are using Revit 2015.

This works fine where the rooms are bounded by walls in the host file, and we can filter the furniture schedule by the room number. However, where rooms are bounded by walls in the linked file, the room number does not appear in the drop down list in the filter dialog.

If we create a room schedule (not a furniture schedule) all of the rooms are listed. It is only in the furniture schedule where they are not all shown.

We have tried enclosing the affected rooms with room separation lines and this has no affect. We also tried using walls to split the rooms down, creating new rooms - none were listed either. It is not a phasing or design options issue. It has me baffled! Any ideas..?

Did you click on the link file then go to edit properties and tick "room bounding"?

And ticked the 'include elements links' in the furniture schedule ? Just saying, its sometimes the things right in front of you that one can't see.

Yes to both of the above - it is only a handful of rooms in the project that are affected, most are working just fine. I've also checked that all of the furniture elements in the linked model are in the same phase and same workset, and that the room location points for the families are within the room extents.

If we add furniture elements in the host model to one of the problem rooms, then then these ARE scheduled OK. I've copied an element in the linked model from another room (where it was scheduling OK) to one of the affected rooms and it does not schedule... Crazy!

Check if the affected rooms are part of a design option. I know I've had trouble transferring data from rooms to spaces in that instance. It might be a similar issue.

Yep, we checked that too. Everything is Main Model and Workset1.

Perhaps I'm not reading this correctly, but if the goal is: I want to report on the room name of furniture/equipment and the rooms are in a different file, then the answer is that this is a known issue. Revit does not do that. Revit will report on all of the furniture found in both the host and the linked, and can report on all the rooms found within both files, but cannot properly report the room data for furniture/equipment when they are not within the same file as the rooms. Adding spaces might help.

Let me know if I've misunderstood or if anyone else knows differently. I wrote a Help topic on this topic a while back when we allowed BIMLink to access that linked file spatial data: https://ideatesoftware.com/support/h...-and-room-data
