Can't Open BIM 360 because everyone has ownership

    2018.3.1.2

No body can get into our mechanical file because ownership issues. I can't get in because person A and B. A can't get in because of me and B. Person B can't sink because me and A. Person C can't get in because of me.

This started yesterday when person A requested that I sync. When I tried the sync failed because person B had ownership of the model. I contacted person B(architect) and they said they got into the model yesterday because they wanted to know a duct height. I don't know why they would need to get into my model to do this. At some point they got a message that I had ownership and rather than requesting a sync they just got out. I'm not sure if this was the origin of the issue but it was when I was first made aware of it. I later tried to sync and revit locked up and I was forced to close the model. I copied my local file to a separate location in case there are issues when trying to open the file.

This has happened in our office before. I wasn't involved but from what I heard it seems like we might have to use one of the local files to recreate the central on the server.

    Any thoughts?

Ask whoever can get into the model to go to Collaborate Tab>Manage Models>Select the model from the list>Actions button>Relinquish. Select force a relinquish of each user.
Then have them STC and relinquish. Than should clear up the problem.

There is one person that hasn't opened the model since last Friday. I told him to hold off today until we can sort this out. Should I try to see if he can get in?

EDIT: NVM He can't get in either.

Ask the Architect to do it--since he can open your model. Then send him your bill for the wasted time!
Sounds like your team needs a good BIM meeting to go through workflow.

The architect (from another company btw) can't get into the model. That would be person B in the narrative. I think everyone is locked out. It appears that the local I saved is in working condition when I opened it detached.

Then create a new Central from your local and put back on BIM 360.

So because it is on 360 I can force relinquish threw the cloud model manager without opening the file. Trying to open it now after for relinquishing people.

EDIT: Did not work. Still says people have ownership of element. I went back into manage cloud models and when I started the relinquish action it listed the same people. I don't know if I should try to do it again? I'm wondering if people can have multiple cases of ownership.

Perhaps the same user was logged into their Autodesk account on multiple PCs, and had (2) sessions of the file open under the same user name? That might explain it.
Users must STC/relinquish before opening the file on another PC.
    An example would be:
User has file open at their desk PC.Then they head into a meeting in a conference room and open the file on the conf. room PC, logging in with their same Adesk credentials,
but they forgot to STC/relinquish on their desk PC, so they have the same file open in two locations under same user account.

Perhaps it hasn't been relinquishing all along. When I did it I saw an error, "Failed to relinquish elements for "file name". Please try again."

    So:
    1. You have re-created the Central File, from the local file that you were able to open, which you found at the location in the link I posted?
    2. Can you open the file, and check Audit while opening it? Any luck?
    3. Have you tried restoring a backup, either via Revit's Restore tool from your Local file, or perhaps using Windows Server "Shadow Copies" / "Previous Versions"
