    Take Off Problems

    Hello,
I am tryng to make a take off on Revit, Yesterday night I loaded many informations for many materials (cost, title, url etc) from the property. This morning when I tried to open the file it did not allow me to open it. I tried with the back up but I opened just the ones I did not still have done the Take off. Now I am tryng to make a take off simple but it does not allow me. Any clue?
    Regards, Filippo

We'll need a bit more information.
What do you mean by "did not allow me to open it"?
    Is there an error message?
Can you open the file, but not the Take Off (schedule, I presume)?
From your post, I can't really tell if this is a problem with the file or the scheulde.

    Sorry about,
I can open the file, but basically the software stay frozen and does not respond. There is not any error message, the file start to load but after goes frozen. I try to do a take off on the same file time ago and I did not have any problem but now I do not what happen. I tried as well to make a new file simple with 1 slab and 4 walls. I make the take off and it is all fine. but when I close the file and I try to reopen it goes frozen.
    Regards, Filippo

    Sorry, but I'm still confused.
I don't understand if you're having a problem with Revit itself, or with this "take off"
It sound like you are able to open Revit and work in it, create and edit elements.
But then you close the file and Revit freezes when you open it?
Does this happen with every file? Or just when you do this "take off"?

Finally, what IS this "take off"? Is it a regular Revit Schedule/Quantity schedule? A Revit Material takeoff? A third party program?

Can you open a file and work in it until you open the Schedule View?

    Still too many questions.

It is a material take off. Revit works normally with no problem at all. I make a normal architectural project, walls, slabs, roof, doors furniture etc. All fine.
When I do the schedule take off, also for this no problem at all, I can open the take off and I can edit it. but if I close the file and I reopen it, revit goes frozen.
so, revit works absolutely normally, I have the problems when I insert a take off material schedules in the project becuase if I try to reopen the file, it goes frozen. I hope I have been clear. Tks
