Attached is from my own Journal, a section where I track literature from what other sources are saying/envisioning. These are not my thoughts but from different sources I just mash together on pages for reference, but I see the points they are trying to make & may help some reading this topic.
It all depends on the firm's culture/situation really of how many hats a "BIM professional" needs to wear....

So as it's said, "mileage may vary"....

Just get one hat that says "Revit Guru". Nobody knows exactly what it means but they all rely on you to make it work

mmmmm, donuts! One of the downsides of being self employed is no donuts. None, never. Sucks

lucky you! For me the closest donut shop is 8 miles away. To far to go for a donut on a workday (every day). But, I retire in 52 days and I'm going to then eat donuts every day

I'd be going to Old West Cinnamon Rolls in Pismo quite often...My fam has a condo at the Sea Gypsy, so I used to go there every visit.

been there many times. Pismo is only 12 miles from my house and when I have the time I munch a cinnamon roll while walking the dog on the beach. If you get down this way again let me know and we'll have a beer somewhere...

as I've mentioned in other threads over the years, this will be my 3rd and last attempt at retirement. First time when I was 50yo and I lasted less than 2 months, then again the first of 2016 and I lasted less than a week. It's tough when you love what you do every day! This time is mandatory though. My wife, being the smart woman that she is, has set up my retirement income, SS, etc to heavily penalize us if I make an money. So, at almost 70 years old it's time to check out of the making money mode. I will not give up playing with Revit though and you'll still have to put up with me here as I discover more cool things to do with Revit. It'll be nice to have the time to dive into Dynamo. Looking forward to the no schedules option
