    Roofs in the same plane

This is an issue that I seem to come across often. I have a main roof, and then a smaller feature roof which sits in the same plane (so I am unable to model it as part of the main roof). When I model it as a separate roof, I can use the Join/Unjoin roof tool to project to the main roof, except when the eaves is in the same plane. In that instance, I get the error message 'The roof cannot be joined'

I can move the smaller roof 1mm away from the main roof and model it that way, however then the fascia doesnt join neatly between the two roofs. See attached images.

Is there a solution for this?

Seems the solution is to make a vertical opening in the larger roof which matched the valley profile. Then the smaller roof will join to it.

That is pretty easy to do with slope arrows as well.

you need to split your roof sketch into 3 lines. The middle line (the part that gets the slope arrows) can't be slope defining. Then place your slope arrows and set them to Slope (height would also work)
