Model groups and detail groups together

Why can't I group both model, and details together and have them move as one? Why is it advantageous to have them move separately despite being grouped together? This is a really frustrating feature, but apparently some people like it. I'm not one of those people and have yet to find a single advantage to it. Is there a work-around?

You can Attach them, while inside the Model Group Editing Mode.

When I am in group editing mode, I can only select the text. When I am out of the group editor, it won't let me move it

Select your group and then hit the "Attach Detail Groups" button:

What other elements are you attempting to select? If they're tags, the model element the tag references need to be in the group, similarly, dimensions need to be associated (at both-ends) to elements within the group.

    That's by design.

The (attached) detail group, by definition, needs to "travel" with it's respective model group.

We use (attached) detail groups a lot; in our bathroom, kitchen (child) groups nested within our apartment (parent) groups, we have:
    "rig" - i.e. linework
    "dims" (various) different styles, different purposes, i.e. "dims_setout", "dims_marketing", "dims_overall", "dims_check", "dims_compliance"
"tags" (various) as above, calling out different things, i.e. "tags_room", "tags_FFE", etc
"fluff" - i.e. detail items for entourage (people & stuff)
