Yes the license issue persists. I have some of the answers but they have not been tested yet. As for number 4. Philip mentioned he has another user in the office with a similar issue on another C4R project. He emptied that persons cache and it helped them somewhat. I have yet to kill my cache cause the last thing I read said to avoid that. But I may try it soon. 3. No I don't, I've found them to be a waste of time as they get sent to someone paid $50 to point me to the various knowledge base areas. 2. I agree, no defender was listed in the task manager. 1. I did try a new project and didn't get the issue, so I'm thinking its project related at this point as I opened the project on the VDI and got the same behavior. I was speaking with support at archvision and he has the same issue on his machine, said its due to anytime a license is borrowed and a certain add in is installed. Same symptoms, maybe not the same issue. The odd thing is no one at HNTB is having the issue on their end. So maybe it has something to do with my specific log in. I'm going to have to invite another users to the project and see if they get the same experience or not. I've even detatched the file and removed all the dwgs and I'm still getting it. I'm half tempted to go buy a brand new laptop, install a home use license and totally rule out the machine issue.
thanks for all your suggestions and help. If I figure it out I will certainly share.

Add me to the stupid project, and we can rule out machines quickly. Especially since I can kill all addins and test on our VMs very quickly.

We are NDA'd with you guys 8 billion ways already anyway. Hell, I'm already in some of your C4R projects. LMAO.

Btw, that Precast addin is 100% ****. And you guys shouldn't have deployed it to everyone. It's got issues.

Sent from my Phablet. Please excuse typos... and bad ideas.

Oh im gonna find it, one way or another.

    Or i wont. lol

EDIT: one thing we have to keep in mind, though, is there is a possibility there are two DIFFERENT issues. We KNOW there is an issue with the Beck machines, and borrowed licenses, and the spinny wheel. We can verify that, and we know that it has nothing to do with any particular Project. So, if THIS spinny incident is related to the project, we have to keep in mind its an entirely different problem.

Just for anyone else following the thread:

I *DO* now think we are looking at either:

    1. The same licensing issue we were originally discussing, or:
    2. A hardware or software configuration issue on those machines in question (at least for Scotts project, not the other folks in the thread)

The model in question (on C4R) and the views in question, and the commands in question, present NO spinny wheel, and no perceptible lag whatsoever, when tested from here.

So I'm back to my home use license solution I've removed two apps Archvision and Precast. No love. Next I'm returning the license to make sure thats not it. - Returning license didn't help.

    Negative.

    1. Kill ALL the addins. Move EVERY ONE of the .addin files out. See if problem goes away. (the reason im saying this is im not convinced that your current Content Browser setup isnt causing the delay)

    2. Then lets try killing the borrowed licenses, and see if it goes away.

    3. If not, i have some settings on your machine i want to change, to see if the problem goes away.

As for disk space I've got 80GB free. But a huge C4R cache. Not sure if that could be an issue.
Hi Scott, I would make sure all of the C4R models don't have any links RVT/DWG to local network drives. That would cripple the system. Ideally, DWGs should be loaded into Desktop Connector, and linked from there.

Model I'm in still has 5 or 6 dwg's linked to the designer's network drives...I haven't noticed any issues.
