What files/folders to backup with removing/reinstalling Revit?

as a proposed solution to an ongoing issue with R2016 C4R I am preparing to uninstall and reinstall R2016 and C4Rv9. There are some very exacting instructions on the Autodesk support site regarding how to uninstall Revit completely, except they say "be sure to backup any custom family or template files prior to following this procedure". All of my family and template files are not in the Revit folder locations. I have backed up my Win10 registry, my revit.ini file, my keyboard shortcuts. Is there anything else that needs to be backed up to allow me to relatively easily get up and going again? My plan is to reinstall all of my 3rd party apps so no need to back those up. Anything else?

thanks for those Artejon. I had come across two of the three in my search for information. It's funny that there doesn't seem to be much information about this issue after 2012. Maybe the R2012 file location changes were the last to be made to date??

For versions newer than 2014, user preferences are no longer stored in the UIState.dat.
They got moved to the Windows Registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Revit\%RevitVe rsion%\Workspace

interesting, this is one of the registry keys that Adesk says to delete to completely remove R2106. If it points to all of the user preferences I assume that I can restore this key from backup and have my user settings back?? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm a detailer and don't deal with registry keys much (or more like ever)

Hi Dave, this Windows Registry key is user specific. You can definitely restore (export/import) the key so long as it is the same hardware.
