2017.2 View Reference Command made dumber

Previously when inserting a view reference (ribbon - view - sheet composition - View Reference) the detail number and sheet would be listed alongside the view name for those views that have been already dragged onto a sheet. In 2017.2 the detail number / sheet number is no longer listed. A step backwards. Can anyone else confirm?

I've still got 2017.1 installed at the moment and it is doing the same thing as you show which is strange because I'm certain that last week I saw the sheet and detail number values included while working on a different project file (also using 2017.1).

When you use a View Reference the detail and sheet number do not appear, however if you create a new view (callout, section, ect...) then click reference view you will see the detail and sheet information.

    Thanks Steve and pivoarch.
pivoarch, yes I think you have solved it - that is what I was remembering. In everyday usage, when referencing the view, the detail number/sheet number is much quicker to select than long descriptive detail names (especially when numerous views listed). It would be great if Autodesk was more consistent with the User interface.

Aah, you've identified the inconsistency and that explains my memory from last week. Thanks!

    Hi everyone,

I have one problem with view reference callout. I have more than 800 views so its difficult to refer the view from drop-down list. Is it possible to type a number or view name so i can easily pick the reference view.

    Thanks

Looks like you are on revit 2014. Version 2017.2 has a searchbox at the top of the list that could be of use in reducing the amount of views in the dropdown. Consistent naming for views also helps.

That's not the only thing missing. Anyone else notice you don't have a 'search' bar when using the view reference tool?? It has it for callouts etc, not for view reference. It has been like that since the search bar came out in Revit 15 R2. I wish they would fix it..

I had a Revit Idea suggestion for new Rooms, but it would apply here, too.
Instead of the drop-down list, I'd like to be able to drag from a Schedule.
That way we could sort, filter and search any way we wanted to as well as being able to use any applicable parameter, not just the one or two in the drop-down.
Speaking of Search, I'd include a link, but I can't find my Idea again.
