Files are hidden in the user's appdata local folders: C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\. ..\collaborationcache.
I would let the C4R service to handle this, instead of hacking it. At worse, you may corrupt the model.

As a side note, Autodesk recommends that you have at least 20+ gb of free disk space for these cache folders.
Yes, we wouldn't recommend monkeying around with the collaboration cache at this time. As for size allocation, you want roughly 3X the total RVT files that are being actively worked on (links included) + 2GB for the Revit Accelerator cache.

    Kyle,
Can you delete all files of the collaborationcache folder?

    thanks

If you want to force Revit to re-download any subsequent cloud workshared models, sure.

Kyle, we want to delete the huge files that are being saved to local hard drives from the C4R. Can we delete these locals models? Will it cause any problems for the cloud models if we delete these models? thanks

Those "huge files" are cached RVTs that were created for a reason: 1) the team member needed to either directly work on them. 2) they were linked models to a model that a team member was directly working on. Deleting them will cause Revit to download the binary chunks + put Humpty Dumpty back together again the next time Revit needs them -> a vastly longer operation than the normal process of downloading the delta binaries (if Revit Accelerator hasn't already pre-fetched them) & "freshening" the existing local cache. Having a cached RVT = a "hot cache", not having locally cached RVT = a "cold cache".

With this baseline understanding, it is a really bad idea to actively impose a "cold cache" scenario on any Revit models actively being worked on. That just makes the team member wait much, much longer for the cloud workshared models to load. If space is really a concern, I'd advise that you do an .RVT search into the collaboration cache -> sort by modified date -> delete the really old ones.

If you're finding that team member don't have sufficient hard drive space for the working copies of the RVTs (we have 3 copies there as part of our local cache architecture, which is designed with the idea that hard drive cost <<< labor cost of team member), I'd recommend you upgrade the drive size.

    Kyle- thanks for the input.

We also have several projects on the cloud, is there any collation between the cloud models and local models?

    thank you

Not sure what you mean by "collation between the cloud models and local models" in this context, so I can't really provide an answer. If you want to clarify a bit, I'm glad to try and provide one.

I'd advise against re-writing the same previous message, but rather explaining what you mean by your question.

Kyle, the forum is having a problem with unwanted duplicate posts. Not his/her fault
