by moving the users local profile to a secondary drive, say a (1 TB 'd') drive, wouldn't '\collaborationcache\' also go along too?
a cause of the same disk space issue noted above, we want to move all user data to the 1TB drives to allow for max breathing room for Revit.

    Yeah, it should move.

    Kyle,
I'm working on my first C4R project and can't figure out how to upload newer versions of models linked into the main project. I see the upload icon in the manage models on a360 on some but not all of the models. What we have our consultants unwilling to use A360, so I plan to open there models, save as, "collaborate" on A360 to get them up there so I can link them into my model. If I just upload them to A360 If I understand correctly I can't link them in. So it worked fine the first time, but I can't "re-upload" as A360 won't let me overight a file it needs a unique name. Is there a white paper or something describing this type of workflow. Another example is we have a project that has copies of the same building that need to be linked in. So the idea was to do a save as of the building and then link in the copy since you can't link the same model into that model. I hope that makes sense.

    Scott,
Glad to help you with that question, but this is not really the topic of this thread, nor is the Architectural forum the best place. If you can re-post this as a new thread in the collaboration forum, we can discuss there.

    Hi,

So does each user download all linked models to their local cache too, or just the MEP model for instance? Seems like the initial opening time on a project with large amounts of linked models is very long.

Would it be possible to copy the local files from one user's '\collaborationcache\' to another to speed up that initial opening time and reduce data transfer?

Having an Issue with the Bluebeam Addin. It won't save the View/Sheet Sets. What gives?? Are the Locals protected in some way from having Apps associate settings in some way?

probably better posted in the Bluebeam forums. And if it's to be posted here probably better to post a new thread rather than tacking onto a non related C4R thread...

I use the Bluebeam add in also and have no problems with Save or Save as in that dialog. Maybe an app reinstall??

I would not recommend it because C4R does not store the locals as a "RVT" file. Instead, they are stored through an obscure GUID schema. If you open the basicinfo.####.dat in Notepad, you may be able to decipher which file it belongs to.

Files are hidden in the user's appdata local folders: C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\. ..\collaborationcache.
I would let the C4R service to handle this, instead of hacking it. At worse, you may corrupt the model.

As a side note, Autodesk recommends that you have at least 20+ gb of free disk space for these cache folders.
