I know, I know.. many questions on this, so this isnt about HOW to create one..
I am attaching some parameters to my rooms for walls, as we have floor finish GA's and reflected ceiling GA's that pick up those finishes. What I want to do, is attach parameters to my "Rooms" and on some of these, have them as material parameters. I can then go to the materials editor, and choose the one I want. ie:
Parameter = "Wall - North"
as a material, which I can then pick the correct Paint finish for that wall. I know its not true BIM etc, but it at least means I can pick from a list of correct materials, rather than letting someone type in "Paint - emulsion" each time and spell it wrong etc..
Will this cause Revit to have a fit somewhere else down the line, by attaching multiple material parameters to my rooms.? I cant think that it might, as these are only parameter entries, rather than an object that has taken on the actual material.?
