    schedule links and design options

I have a bunch of links and DO's which I'm for which I'm scheduling at each level for unit(4 types), building(7 types each with 32 units) and site (11 Buildings) and this is only stage 1. A schedule view template will only allow for 'appearance' to be saved into a VT.

Currently I have to select the Visibility/Graphics Override button (PB) to change the link/DO visibility options for each schedule. I am dealing with extensive lists of RVT links (and link instances) and DO check boxes. Yes, I duplicated my master schedules for the lower levels however, having to modify each one (even if only slightly) is a very slow process. Am I missing something or there an easier way?

I'd really like to not have to have such a long drawn out process next time. Are there any Revit addons out there that can export / import these settings with Excel which might help speed things up?

Basically I just want to know the best way to control my design options within my schedules.

There haven't been any improvements in this in a long time, that I know of. Sad.

I looked to do this very same thing last night in 2014 - blindly hoping it had snuck it's way in... alas.

I've heard, and read, good things about CASE's Exceler8 for getting a handle on schedule data - not sure where it compares to stuff like Ideate (cost/features/etc) - or if you're into buying addins.

Thanks guys, I feared as much. Seeing as DO's, linking, scheduling etc are a major part of Revit's BIM strengths I can't see how such an obvious feature has been left out. I have around 200 separate schedules in this project so far with possibly more to come. I'll be sure to have another look at those addins.
