    Revit Room finish parameters

Is there a way to enter room finish materials(Floors/walls/ceilings) in a room schedule or in a rooms parameters that will automatically apply that material to the rooms wall in the 3d model.(My building contains the one type of wall). Split face/paint tools create the material in the model but this information does not seem to link back to room schedules. I have also tried using room interior fill visibility and applying a fill pattern that is similar to the material yet this does not link to schedules either. Is there a simple way to link the material finishes of a wall to the rooms finish parameter?

No, at least until you actually model them.

Thanks. If I create separate walls for each room is there a way for the rooms parameters to pick up the materials? Or is creating numerous wall types which only have different finishes and joining them bad practice?

No not built in to Revit. There are various apps that does this. Autodesk's "Roombook" (i think it's a subscription app), is one that does takeoff on walls.

It is a most common practice but you'll need to create manual parametr for room name/number so walls.

Roombook is hardly useful (could be very slow on calculations or doesn't work at all, also needs a lot of time to set it up correctly) and afaik it still will not assign material to a wall from room finish schedule (not played with 2013 ver. much, but as fast check it had same bad perfomance as before).
In other words, Revit is still pretty terrible for room finishes.
