    I broke my Revit =<

!! This family is not loaded correctly

So, I'm in the family editor, and I click on the parameters button. I get the error "!! This family is not loaded correctly, check..." in the Name: box, and now I can't do anything. Clicking any of the buttons doesn't work, I can't close the type dialog, nothing. So, I can't do anything now. =<

Has anyone come across this problem before?

I've attached a screenshot. It's unusual because it simply won't let me do anything - clicking any of the buttons won't work. It's not unresponsive as in it's crashed though.

It's not one of my families, but the file name isn't anything unusual.

I think you are experiencing two seperate things:

    1. Something is fragged in your Revit UI. Did you recent install the windows updates that installed .net 4.5? If so, you need to be on 2013 WU2 or 2012 with the latest hotfix, or the UI goes nuts.

    2. Someone named the Family Type that, so make sure people use the Type Catalog, and not Load Into Project. I do that here as well.

I probably botched the family import with the type catalog, that doesn't bother me as much. It's the UI issue that's more frustrating. I'm on 2013 WU2, and used it fine hours before, and since it's been fine also. I just wondered if there's a connection between this family issue and something that then locks the UI.
