Window Brickmould: Nested Face Based Families Not Cutting

I'm having an issue getting my brickmould to cut properly once I'm in a project and I can't figure out why. I pulled up my old windows (c. 2017) and everything cuts correctly, but the new windows don't... The brickmould family is built the same way (I'm pretty sure it was a save-as & cleanup) so I can't figure out why one cuts appropriately and the other doesn't. Any insights into why one works as expected and the other doesn't would be appreciated.

Project file with a dumbed down version of the new window and one of the old windows attached.

And I poked blindly at it long enough and got things working

Extended the void so it cut the face, then pulled it back to be flush with the face. For some reason this doesn't give an error about not cutting, which results in everything working in the project environment.
