# Thread: <Yes/No> control <Text> or <Number>

1. ## <Yes/No> control <Text> or <Number>

Hi everyone.

I can seem to figure this one out...
Im looking for a formula to control Text-Parameter or Number-parameter by a Yes/No-Parameter

My best way to describe it, is by a failed if statement

In a text-parameter formula;
=IF( [Yes/No] = 1<2, "Text 1", "Text 2" )
< IF [Yes/No] = True, Then "Text 1", Else "Text 2" >

In a Number-parameter formula;
=IF( [Yes/No] = 1>2, "0", "1" )
< IF [Yes/No] = False, Then "0", Else "1" >

How can i make this work?

2. For text
Make a yes/no parameter (in my example it is test01)
Make a text parameter (in my example it is test02)
in test02 place this formula if(test01, "yes", "no")

For number
Make a yes/no parameter (in my example it is test01)
Make a number parameter (in my example it is test02)
in test02 place this formula if(test01, 0, 1)

No need for fancy IF parameters when working with yes/no

3. Thank you for your answer.. I'll try that..
Thats very simple indeed...

To clarify - putting quotes around numbers that need to be numbers turns them into strings (i.e. text).
