Thumbs up SOLVED: problem with families and model category

    Hi.

I'm currently trying to update our current library of exterior furniture and discovered a bug. In this process I'm simplifying the model categories in object styles, ie changing the name of the object style. I also changed the family category from site to furniture. When I tested my families in a new project several of the old styles show up in the old category, but not in the family itself..

I've marked both the correct and the wrong style in the image above. I knew object styles stay in a project after you delete a family, but since i tested in a completely empty project I dont get it. Anyone got a clue?

Attached one of the misbehaving families as an example.

Are those in your project already before you load the family in your project?
Once they are in your project is does not matter what you do with your family they stay in your project untill you remove them from your project.

And are you sure they are not in any of the other families?

Its not a bug. Its been this way forever.

Families "carry" Object Styles (subcats) even of categories they dont currently belong in. Ive got a Dynamo Graph that will strip it out (done in the project) but then youll have to remake the ones you want to keep.

Changing a families Category DOESNT move the Object Styles, and the old ones DO stay.

the project i test this in is a completely new project without a template. so tre family is completely new yes, project does not contain anything else.

I had an idea this was the case, however when I change the subcat back to the original, there's no style to delete. Glad it's not a bug though.

I found the issue, and what I still belive is a bug.
When i double click a family within a project to enter edit family, the old object style under family category is not to be found.
But when i directly open the family itself, the old styles is located.
