    Extra references in family

When adding dimensions to the attached family there are a lot of references which Revit tries to snap to (both vertically and horizontally) and I'm unsure where those are all coming from? I'd like one reference plane at the centerline of the toilet land thats it, but can't even see where the "phontom" references are coming from. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

Hit vv on your keyboard, go to annotations tab and turn on automatic sketch dimensions.
Depending on the complexity of your family you may be surprised how many dimensions show up. These are the automagic ways Revit tries to help you. I wish they didn't exist as I'd prefer to control everything from scratch, but they do because Revit. You'll need to override them all to get total control.

PS. You might also want to learn the different behaviours of reference planes in families. ie. strong, weak, not a reference etc...

Thanks for the quick reply Elton! I was able to dig through and re-associate the temp dimensions so that I could delete all of those but Revit still tries to snap to these "phantom" references. It appears, when in the family editor, that those references are a product of the nested wall mounted flush valve family (when hovering a dimension command over the references the tip box says they are part of the wall mount flush valve family). Even when I delete the nested wall mounted flush valve family out of the host those references are still able to be selected and dimensioned to..? What am I missing? Thanks again
