What controls the view title line length?

In relation to dropping a view, what controls the length of the line? We don't like the line extending the full width of the view and find we are editing that for every view made. Nor do we like it left justified. I've not had any luck finding where this is directly controlled. Can you all guide me?

It is controlled by the extents of the view, although I don't know the technical specifics of what it references for the actual length. You can however constrain the title line to a reference plane in your family and control the length exactly. I have mine setup with several different sizes - 3",4",5",6" & 7" be default, but it's pretty easy to modify and add more if needed.

Thank you Chad. Is there a default location relative to the view? I like that specifically sets the lengths. That eliminates all the different looks...much cleaner. IDK why didn't come up with that.

Post up a sample image, love to throw darts. Has anyone figured out how the software justifies the location of the view title? I understand, its the view of the view. Its left justified, I get that. When we have a long section or long elevation, the standard in this office is not to run the line the full width, but to move the view title to the center and shorten the length. Removed or not, the line....IDC...trying to understand if this is hard wired in the software or controllable by default.

The line has nothing to do with the justification. View titles are justified to the bottom left of the view. The line, if you use it, follows the view title. I don’t like lower left justification so I move each title to the bottom center of what’s in the view. And I haven’t used the line in some years as it was always a PITA to get it where I wanted it and the correct (to me) length, as you have pointed out

Another options is to uncheck Show Extension Line in the Viewports Type properties and underline the text in the View Title's label. Add spaces in the label's Prefix as desired to push the text away from the #. If you would like the line to extend past the text a bit add spaces with an empty Alt+Code at the end in the label's Suffix.

The line will auto adjust to the text and no more fiddling with that PITA.
