Here it is...even got the reference view to move with it.

This is the detail version, so the length is a type parameter.

All it takes is a Detail Group. The Beck View Title was like that 7 years ago.

Sent from my Phablet. Please excuse typos... and bad ideas.

For some reason the reference line/text grouping didn't want to work anymore. So I used an invisible circle instead and aligned to the center mark.

Then they broke it after I left. It's working in the old Beck template I have here from before I left, and it works in my current one, which is nicer, but built the same way.

Can you explain this in more 'detail'? I did not think you could use a detail component in an annotation family.

    Detail Group, not Detail Component.

Is the detail group in the family or the project?

Do you have an example of a family using this technique that you can share to explain?

The screen shot MPwuzhere posted basically shows the entire thing, no sample file needed. If you have a piece of text or a label that you want to flex/move with the items on the right, you put them in a Detail Group with the vertical invisible line. Then you put the parametric constraint on the invisible line, and the entire detail group moves.

As you can see in the attached, works fine here. =)
