Door Families not obeying the show in plan when cut check box

Shouldn't sweeps(door frames) show in plan if they are set to off in plan view, but show when cut? Ie if I have an archtop frame and don't want to see the arch, i just want to see the frame cut thru, in the past I though I just unchecked the show in plan view and left the show when cut checked. However it doesn't seem to work, I can either have it on or off. Any thoughts?

Seems OK here. What version of Revit are you using?

edit: quick mockup enclosed. I just slapped some crap together for concept, but it seems OK.

Note I think the issue is that our door families are set up with Nested frame families.

Yours work just as expected. If you don't mind, try nesting the same shape in and see if it fails.

Good point. Are the frames also shared? It looks like Nested families display oddly, shared & nested families work as expected, at least in the 30 seconds of stabbing at it that I did.

Hi Scott, what family type are your nested frames out of curiosity?

What kind of hosting does your door frame use? I still get thrown off with face-based families on occasion, because what I often expect to be plan view is actually front/rear and vice versa. Uploading your family would be the easiest way for us to trouble-shoot it.

Mine are shared nested wall hosted Door Category frames, and it cannot be one monolithic piece or it is all or nothing in Plan.

But that's fine with me, since I want the too and sides to be separate shapes (even for arches).

I can't say for sure that Scott's firm still uses my old doors, but if they do, they are shared nested wall hosted Door Categories as well. They will need the sweep to not be continuous or it won't work.

Sent from my Phablet. Please excuse typos... and bad ideas.
