    Unit Area in the Titleblock

    Hi All,

I don't know if someone else has asked this question before.

Is there a way to show automatically the area of a unit in the title-block?

When I do the marketing plan for one specific unit I would like to drag the view (of that unit) in the sheet and show its area in the title-block.

I thought I could add an area schedule to the title-block but Revit doesn't allow to do that.

Has someone tried anything else before? Any solution?

Thank you all in advance for your help.

    Marco

Nativity? No. How areas and units are defined varies from firm to firm.
If you do it enough and your method is consistent you could write a dynamo script that fetches the area and writes it to a sheet parameter.

you can put a project schedule on the sheet and just filter for the unit/s required.

Good point - I was focused on the "automatically" part of the request.

...Automation you mean, where the inputs are extrapolated. That's my BIM Nerdiness coming out, lol.

So I remove wall bounding setting on all interior Unit walls. Then use a Massing family to "Label" my Unit Rooms (rooms within the Units) with Mass Tags that would track surface SF & WxH if desired, but only in the Documented (Typical) Unit Type & not done in every instance, which only the Room Element is. As for those Unit Sheets for Marketing/Presentation I would have a unique parameter to filter out the Unit content like Finishes/Doors/FFE onto "Unit" schedules. So the whole Unit would have the Room Element associated to it whole "Net" area. I would use an Area View Type if Gross SF'ages are needed/desired.

Slippery slope... even with 2018's sorting of schedules, heavy filtering/isolation of schedules (IMO) can lead to exponential growth of labour - and whilst I understand the desire (to have such nuclear values reported on sheet, especially in the case of marketing plans) I still always push for such (schedule) data to be captured in a single output - that gets married back to the drawing by reference.
