    Complex Smooth Chair Family

    Hii,

I am going through a problem that i have to create a revit family of chair as attached image.
chair is curved in both direction and edges are equally smooth.
Can anybody suggest me the best process of creating this kind of family.

    Regards
    Kamal Chhetri

There is no image and chairs and furniture are a challenge.
Post the image and we can give better advise.

You can do it in Revit with 2 extrusions, a void and a sweep and you get something like the right example on the image (selected it all so you see the separate parts) or you can put it trough Fusion 360 and get a smoother finish on it. Takes a bit more work, but looks pretty nice (that's the left example)

Is simple extrusion sufficient or we have to go for massing...coz the shape is too much up and down.

It all depends on what you want to do with the family. If it is just for space planning an even simpler family will do, for Shaded views this one might be OK, but it has some extra vertices you keep seeing. For high end rendering you will probably have to go a different direction, either use Fusion to model it of get it from the web somewhere.
