    Hi all,

Aaron a quick question. I've noticed your frames with sidelites are empty i.e. no infill or glass. How do you go about including these in your model.

    Thanks in advance.

    K

I like the way you have also grayed out the "Old Default Parameters"
Am I correct in that you just added a "0" measurement to there Equation, & then this turns them to Grey?

My mistake, the glazing was included.

Being from the UK, I've not seen it detailed like that.

We don't tend to use hollow metal frame in the UK, typically construction is either timber with glazing beads or an aluminium framing system.

Gotcha. The frames work the same way for Wood and/or Aluminum. We have the AL and WD ones in the library, just not the different variants with all of the sidelights. But someone needed an AL one with sidelights the other day. Took about three minutes to swap the profiles. Worked like a champ.

    Aaron,

I've just had a look at some of your parts. I have a couple of questions.

1.\ Do you receive any complaints from your teams about how slow the doors flip / adjust compare with traditional non nested families?

2.\ In your sample file none of the curtain wall doors seem to adjust to the change in opening, is there a reason for this?

3.\ You don't have a flipped version of the sidelite frame F21 i.e. so the sidelite is on the other side of the door. Do you never use this style, or am I missing something?

4.\ Given that you use Profiles for your frame, have you purposefully decided not to use levels of detail for your geometry, and has this affected performance on large projects?

If you do get round to answering any of these questions I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and content with the world. It's always interesting seeing how other people go about the problems of content building.
