    Question on manipulating/editing system families.

    Hey Guys,

Pretty new to Revit and I just have a couple of questions regarding system families. How could I go about adding a masking region to an elevation, section, and plan callout? I'm just trying to clean up my drawings and I'm finding them difficult to read as hatch regions are interfering with the text. Also for section cuts, is there a way to break the line and manipulate the section line in a way that is similar to plan detail callouts? This is a fairly large project that is well on its way and I would rather not add masking regions to the plans as its time consuming and more susceptible to change or even create a brand new family since it would take time to switch everything over. Any input would be greatly appreciated, and again please bear with me as I'm a noob when it comes to Revit.

Callouts (elevation, section, etc.) use standard annotation families. Figure out which families yours are using and add the Masking Region there.

Not sure what you're after regarding "a way to break the line and manipulate the section line." You can Split Segment on a section line to get it to jog in plan... is that what you're after?

Welcome to RFo and the wonderful world of Revit.

In addition to what GM posted, are you just trying to turn off the fill regions? You could turn them off by filter or just turn off the pattern entirely in your Visibility Graphics (VG). Can you post an image of what you're trying to clean up? That would help us give you the best answer.

If it's only Text that you're worried about, you can create a Text Type that's set to Opaque, so the Text would hide the Filled Region instead of vice versa.
