Easy way to grab exterior wall surface areas of Mass

Is there any easy way to grab the exterior wall surface area from a building mass? As far as i can tell, the mass doesn't even know what is exterior and what is roof unless you start applying mass floors.

    Easy?

If you are just assuming anything that is vertical is a wall one can explode the geometry, then filter by each faces “normal” direction. This is a simple method I use often. This can also be made so the normal could be with in a certain tolerance of vertical.

If you had materials painted to these faces and wanted to filter based on that it is also possible - I don’t have this with and can look up tomorrow.
