Thread: diagrid family

So i'm currently working on a steel diagrid frame, to support a 8 storey building. One of the facades is sloping inward making the area smaller as the elevation goes up. this result in two triangluar sides with incomplete surface grids. My pattern is made from "Metric Curtain Panel Pattern Based" with a triangular(Flat) base grid.


Now, i want the surface pattern to fill the whole grid, so I can join the triangular sides with the sloping backside.
Below: the first picture displays the building, and the secound one off walls with the border tile set to "empty" the third with "parcial"





in other words, I want the pattern to be "cut" outside the grid surface. I have tested with different parameters and pattern familys, but always with the same result. How do i accomplish this?

Not sure this can be done with your current method

I would make a smaller panel family and infill the missing segment

You can divide by reference plane to get the angle

This should be made with adaptive component. Have look in the forum, I'll be back later. but you should succeed with AC.

Looking at the OP I figured he was already using AC's??

I have been away from my computer during the weekend, I have tried making some AC. But I'm still quite new to the family concept. But thank for the reply. I'll try AC once again, mhopefully with more luck than last time.
