As far as I know this is not possible. Default thickness is an ootb parameter which doesn't show up in the Profile Family. In the project environment you can't ty both together...

Could Slab_D be a reporting parameter? I don't exactly understand them, but they can work for lengths.

Slab_D is not possible to be a reporting parameter its because the slab is a system family... reporting parameter will work only in non-system family such as beam, column, etc...

what im trying to obtain here is i want to use the Slab_D as my slab tag for detailing purposes.. For example i want the slab tag to be 400.. its easy to get the slab tag 400 by renaming the type name to 400...but i dont want to do that.. because we have a standard for type name in particular for slab..we can also place a type parameter such as i do but it is not automatically change if you change the slab thickness......

    Hi Michel,
    Welcome to RFO.
Saddly I no longer have rst 2011 installed, so I will encourage you to read carefully the blog linked above, even with google translate.
The main concept is to add a report parameter (A) to the host in a generic floor-base family. Then you add a shared parameter, and link it to A writing SP=A. Now SP reports the value of A, the floor thickness in fact.
You need now a generic annotation, reporting the shared parameter SP.
Nest the anno to the family, and link it to SP. Done.

It should take less than 10'. And the result worth it.
