LOL. Well, the Corsair Hydro is unlikely to leak... but there are instances that they have. When I hear "leak proof", I think of the Titanic.

    Now that would be funny!

Mark (or Iru), how much will that system run (cost wise)?

The CPU box will run about $5,500 with shipping and taxes from Tiger Direct. The monitors and speaker will be about $2,000 with shipping and taxes from Dell.

The question is: Can you afford not to not to buy this? Your competition will. If your computer is not instantaneous, it is too slow and there is an opportunity for improvement. I paid this much for a 50 MHz 80486 System with a Sony 21” monitor in 1991.

If those pictures on your web site are renderings, you are the best renderer ever. It seems unfair to build full scale models and photograph them, thus bypassing the computer completely.

I wish they were my renderings. No, those are the real deal. I'm in the market for a new desktop, but 7.5K is way too steep for me. If the competition can afford that price tag, well, so be it.

Great thread, thanks for continuing updates over time (the most important consideration). Hopefully you're still following this thread and can expand:

I'm very interested in Network Storage solutions at the moment as our office is having considerable difficulty with a Network Attached Storage device when Revit Central files exceed 100Mb. Our small office is considering replacing the NAS with a Server at considerable cost and I was wondering if you had any thoughts on specs.

Merits and downfalls of Network Storage solutions (Windows Server vs. Linux Server vs. Network Attached Storage [NAS] vs. Storage Area Network [SAN] (this one's new to me) vs. a dedicated Win 7 PC, etc.)?

Maybe some others will jump in with their thoughts as well...

I might be able to offer a few thoughts, but it would help to know the following:

Are you using work sharing (i.e. work sets)? If so, how many users do you have working on a model at any given time?

How many Revit users are active on your network at any given time?

You seem to indicate you're currently using a NAS - may I ask which one you're using and what RAID configuration?

I would assume the network is completely 1Gb ethernet - no old 100Mb hubs/switches in-between the workstations and the NAS?
