My company is looking at purchasing some new workstations. Here are the graphics cards he has listed...any thoughts? From my first glance none of the NVS seem to be Certified so that drops most. All 3 of the higher End Quadro cards had poor reviews on NewEgg

Pure Revit workstations? Or will other software be used?

If purely Revit, the Quadro cards are overkill IMO... Ask for a GTX (Gamer) card instead.

Don't know about the other programs, but for revit the GTX series are excellent.

I have a 3GB GTX580 and it is way overkill for revit but lovely for gpu rendering. For revit, I had previously worked very happily with a GTX480 - probably around $60.00 these days.

With the change, i might choose to get a better cpu / motherboard or upgrade the RAM.

I've found the benchmarks on this site to be quite helpful when building new machines:
PassMark Software - Video Card Benchmarks - High End Video Cards

The GTX 480 would be my first choice. And it would perform significantly better than the most expensive "cad" card option for 1/3 of the price.

I have no clue, but I'm running a Quadro 2000 along with a Quadro FX 4800, and I've had nothing but problems. I've tried several drivers. I guess I need to try more. Not sure if it's the cards or what, but it's a major PITA.

I'd get the new GTX 690 card with the keplar architecture. Nobody's running it with revit yet that I know of, but someone needs to be the first!

Think your issue is trying to use two different generations of Quadro's at the same time...Personally I would pull the FX out...it uses double the power the 2000 uses...

We tried the Quadro FX 1800 "professional" card and then moved to the GTX 560 Ti "gamer" card. The GTX kicks the Quadro card around the block. The GTX also works for the Cuda GPU processing with some of the Adobe programs for extra processing power as well. And it was less than half the price of the Quadro.

I know the GTX isn't on the official Autodesk list. But it works great with Revit.

I think I saw mentioned in the 3dsMax Area forum that iRay isn't enabled for keplar yet but should be er, interesting

Mind you, just my view, I'd never buy a GTX card - I'll wait for the Quadro version.

    Edit:
Of course I'm referring to the Ray Trace feature in Revit 2013 which I believe is iRay
