I'm just starting from scratch on the muntins. Our windows are already done and work like a charm.

Aaron, I just saw your attached images. Exactly what I'm trying to do! Those look so pretty.
Any thoughts on the category question? Or does it not matter?

Once i get down to the Muntin level, im in Unshared Families, so the category doesnt matter. Otherwise, you have to deal with Muntin sizes across all of your window panels, and they play tug or war.

    But its personal preference...

    Mia,

You safest bet is to have it as a generic family category anyway, at least that's my opinion.

If its unshared, there is no difference. Its part of the window. If you have ANY need to make it shared, make it a Wondow family, so it still responds to Windows Category.

It might be good to keep the grilles in the window category so you can schedule them easily in the same category as the main windows.

i.e. The GC and/or window supplier might need a quantity of the grilles and sizes, etc. for bidding.

As I understand it, the grilles can only be scheduled if they are shared. And I have no need to share them. Plus... well... I think I just might want to make the window supplier count the number of grilles they'll need by hand!

Sounds like a great collaborative BIM method! ( not )!!! Part of the definition of "collaboration" is "sharing".......LOL

Okay, one last question. Is there a snazzy way to make an array parameter be "1" without it freaking out? Or do I have to have if/then, yes/no parameters for the array visibility verses just one muntin that isn't part of the array?

    Does that makes sense?

I dont' know how others would use it, but I dont' see a need of scheduling the Grill by itself.
