Trim first the two wall then join then with the column using "Join geometry" under Modify panel

hi engel_hg, i cannot do that mainly because that is not wall. that is a beam. so, how will we connect the two beams to the column? tnx for the response.

Ahh i see i thought its a wall, well as far as i know. structural beam are automatically connected to column once they attached to each other. Or just create model in place structural framing then joint it to the column to make it seamless to fill in the gap.

But make sure that you use all same material with beam column and the model you will going make to fill in the gap.

hi engel_hg, thanks again for the response... once i create a model in place as structural framing, can i determine it in the schedule that, that is the two beams i created? tnx a lot man.

Well that the problem because model-in place will not appear on the schedule. that's why you will just going create a small extrusion to fill in the void gap.

If you already tried with the Trim by Corner tool, and you tried dragging the endpoints of the beams to the center of the column, and the beams still don't connect, I suspect that the beams are not at the same elevation. Can you provide a screen capture in 3D?

I think you need to use the Coping tool for this (on the Modify tab). To extend the beams, select them and change the cutback value in the Properties. Or select the blue arrows in Plan View and drag them to a new position.

also check if the column family doesn`t have some reference planes offseted from the geometry in the plan view(delete them or make them not to be a reference).
