    Phase hatches

Is there a way to create a graphic override on phasing?

For instance, I have set all of my existing walls (through the phasing dialogue) to have a diagonal hatch but I want all of my walls in my interior elevations to have no fill patterns. I try to override through my VG and set the walls to have a solid white fill, but it only works on the new walls, not existing.

There is a graphic overrides tab in the Phasing dialog box. You should be able to accomplish what you are trying from there.

Right that's what I'm talking about. That overrides for the entire project, not view specific. I currently have that set to diagonal hatch, and I want all of my views except my interior elevations to have this graphic setting.

Maybe I'm not understanding something...if I set my cut pattern for existing to be diagonal hatch but have no pattern for projection, I get no pattern showing in the elevation. Am I not understanding what you are trying to do?

I'm cutting section still. On the interior elevations I am still cutting through walls and ceilings at the perimeter of the elevation, and I want them to show up as white, not hatched.

So you want your exterior walls to have a different hatch then your interior walls? Make them another material. Or create a filter based on the usage of the wall (extior, interior). But frankly: I would say that it has to be a different material.

If I understand stl4310 correct... He want the diagonal pattern (hatch) on all existing wall when cut in plan view, but no pattern on any existing walls that are cut in elevation views.

But since we can´t use the Phasing information for filters, I don´t see any other way than overriding graphics by per. element - Either turning on a pattern on all existing walls in plan view, or turning of the pattern for all existing walls in elevation views.

Don´t understand why you want to do this though... Not much consistency in the graphical display of existing walls - Which could confuse the contractors, or whom ever reads your drawings?

You could use the Masking Region method.
Create a masking region to the profile of you elevation. While in sketch mode, sketch another which is outside this profile (using invisible lines) certainly not ideal, but it gives a clean crisp edge to you elevation.

The way my firm understands interior elevations, is that you are showing the information on the facing wall only, not worrying about adjoining walls or sectional aspects. We are not concerned with showing wall types or anything of that nature, that information can be found in the floor plans.

We did the masking region, but then some of our walls and ceilings changed based on client requests, and it was a pain to have to go back in and edit the masking regions in every view.

Unless you can change your firms "understanding" in this regard, you´re stuck with "Override by Element" as the best option IMHO.
